President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the field of the «Rustamjon Zamin Rivoji» farm in the Izbaskan District, where he got acquainted with the wheat harvest.

The wheat is grown on more than 55 hectares of the farm. It is expected that over 72 centners of grain will be harvested from each hectare. The farm plans to sell 177 tons of the crop to state, leaving 225 tons at its own disposal.

A sprinkling irrigation has been introduced at 13 hectares. The plots freed from wheat are allocated to 200 residents for growing double crops.

The President asked about the cultivar of wheat grown here and the yield indicators.

«It is necessary to take measures to improve wheat yield up to 100 centners. Then both the farmer and the workers will earn more. When the income is good, the farmer will refer to science, work in a new way, help neighbors, the youth», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

President also spoke to farmers and the youth of the region.

«The purpose of my visit to Andijan today is to find out whether people feel the benefits of the reforms, whether changes are taking place in their life, what else needs to be done to make people happy», - the President said. «There are changes, of course, I can see it. However, this is not enough. We need to create even more jobs, improve conditions in the makhalla (the local neighborhood community area)».

At the meeting, it was spoken about the development of industry in the countryside, support for entrepreneurship, the expansion of home poultry farming and vegetable gardening.

«The driving force of reforms is in the makhalla», – the President has said.
