On May 13, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Presidents exchanged the warm congratulations on the Holy Ramadan holiday – the Eid al-Fitr and sincerely wished the two fraternal peoples peace, well-being and prosperity.

The topical issues of bilateral relations and the regional agenda were discussed. The high dynamics of the development of the Uzbek-Kazakh multifaceted cooperation, despite the effects of the pandemic, were noted with satisfaction.

In the first quarter of this year, the trade turnover increased by 28%, an industrial cooperation program is being successfully implemented, major projects in the sphere of transport and logistics are being prepared. The cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding.

The issues of ensuring stability and strengthening the good-neighborly relations in the Central Asian region, as well as the schedule of forthcoming bilateral meetings and multilateral events were also discussed.
