President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the «Turkmenbashi Rukhy» Complex.

In the mausoleum of the First President of Turkmenistan, the Leaders honored the memory of Saparmurat Niyazov. The Surahs from the Holy Koran were read.

Then, the Presidents took part in the Iftar in memory of the father of the Leader of Turkmenistan, Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov. The muftis of the two countries, elders and religious figures also attended the memorial dinner.

President Mirziyoyev, on his own behalf and on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan, expressed deep condolences in connection with passing of Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted the exemplary life, productive work and good deeds of the deceased.

«The Uzbek and Turkmen people have been supporting each other since ancient times, living in friendship and harmony. This is confirmed by the immortal verses of the great thinker Makhtumkuli: «You should know, Firaga has two lineages – the Turkmens and the Uzbeks». Today’s commemoration event is another practical embodiment of these centuries-old friendship and brotherly ties», said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The elders made dua (supplicated), asking the Almighty for peace, prosperity and further strengthening of the fraternity and friendship between the people of the two countries.

This concludes the working visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov saw President Shavkat Mirziyoyev off the Ashgabat International Airport.
