On March 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov, who is in Tashkent to participate in the work of the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation.
The issues of further development of the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were discussed at the meeting.
The President highlighted the importance of the timely and full implementation of the arrangements and agreements adopted during the recent summit at the highest level for strengthening the Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
In his turn, Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov expressed profound gratitude to the leader of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
As a co-chairperson of the Joint Commission, he has also informed about the key results of the meeting and the specific decisions taken.
During the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan paid a special attention to the issues of creating conducive conditions for increasing the volume of mutual trade, promoting significant cooperation projects in such spheres as industry, energy, agriculture and water management, the early launch of the Development Fund, as well as expanding the inter-regional, cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The prompt start of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction and the increase in cargo transportation along the multi-modal corridor Andijan – Osh - Sary-Tash - Irkeshtam was cited as being topical.
At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic assured of his willingness to make every effort for unconditional implementation of the agreements reached between the heads of the two states and which are aimed at the consistent development of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz full-scale partnership.
