An extraordinary session of the Tashkent Region Kengash (Counsil) of People’s Deputies is being held in the town of Nurafshan. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes part in it.

At the beginning of his speech, the President congratulated the audience on the forthcoming Navruz holiday. He noted that the Tashkent Region plays a leading role in the development of our country.

«The Tashkent Region has a huge potential for the industry, agriculture, trade and services. Therefore, we set a very high bar for the region. However, the corresponding result is not visible, middle-level executives do not cope with the tasks. Today we do not need khokims (governors) dealing with cotton and grain. The cotton and grain should be dealt by those who are interested in it. The khokim must correspond to modern realities, know the priorities well and be able to use them, must be able to satisfy the needs of 2,994  million people living in the region»,- said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

An organizational issue was considered at the session. The President recommended the candidacy of Davron Khidoyatov, the acting head of the region, for the post of Khokim of the Tashkent region.

D. Khidoyatov was born in 1976 in Tashkent. In 1996 - 2009 he served in the banking system, until 2014 - in the automotive industry. In 2014-2020, he served as a Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Privatization, Demonopolization and Development of Competition, the Khokim of the Chilanzar district, the First Deputy Khokim of the city of Tashkent.

The people’s deputies and activists of the region, who took the floor, expressed their opinions about the candidate. According to the voting results, Davron Khidoyatov was approved the Khokim of the Tashkent Region.
