Branches of the Tashkent-based Technological Park of Software Products and Information Technologies (IT Park) are being established in the regions, with state-of-the-art setting for specialists in the field.
In Karshi IT Park, web designers, programmers and robotics experts began their activities. Owing to trainings organized within the framework of the project “Million Programmers”, great opportunities have been delivered for young people who are keen on information technologies. Initial results are evident.
In particular, a team of Kashkadarya youth has proved second to no one in the mGovAward competition among students of higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan to develop the best mobile application for public needs. Their mobile application for distance learning foreign languages received a prize of $ 50,000 to be used to improve the product.
The head of state congratulated the young programmers on their success and inquired into their goals ahead. Responsible officials were instructed to support this project and assist the team in developing new software.
“Each region has its own opportunities and its own pressing problems. IT parks should create software products with these features in mind. For example, in Kashkadarya, the areas of land reclamation, potato growing, viticulture are in poor condition, there are favorable conditions for the development of animal husbandry, horticulture. In these sectors, innovative projects are needed to save resources and increase productivity,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested.
Instructions were given to expand cooperation among universities, research institutes and IT parks.
