The Presidents noted with deep satisfaction the current level of Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership built on solid bonds of centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness, common history, culture and traditions.
In the complicated period of the global contagion of coronavirus, mutual support is provided in overcoming the consequences of the pandemic. The Tajik side expressed gratitude for the practical assistance in combating this dangerous disease.
In trade and economic cooperation, the turnover continues to grow, and cooperation is expanding at the inter-region and business levels.
The heads of state highly appreciated the fruitful results of bilateral events held last month. In particular, successful were the regular session of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum, a scientific and practical conference, meetings of parliamentarians and creative intelligentsia, the opening of joint production sites and social facilities.
The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan instructed the governments of the two countries to devise a roadmap to enhance multifaceted cooperation and comprehensively work out a new agenda for the upcoming summit.
The parties also exchanged views on topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
At the end of the telephone conversation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely wished President Emomali Rahmon a successful holding of an important political event in the country – the presidential elections on October 11.
