President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will appear before the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis with his annual Address on January 24 at 11:00 am.

On the basis of the Electoral Code adopted for the first time in the history of our state, elections to the lower house of the national parliament and local Kengashes of people’s deputies took place on 22 December 2019, under the motto “New Uzbekistan, New Elections”.

Following the election, the Central Election Commission registered 150 deputies of the Legislative Chamber and 97 members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. 13 senators were appointed in particular by a presidential decree signed January 17, 2020. Thus, a new composition of our country’s legislature has been formed.

Thus, the head of state will present the Address to the new parliament.

This important event will take place at the International Congress Center in Tashkent. It will be attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, and through video conferencing – members of regional, district and town Kengashes of people’s deputies, as well as heads of executive authorities and economic management bodies, representatives of non-governmental organizations and the wider public.
