In accordance with Article 98 of the Constitution of our country, a political party that has earned the greatest number of seats or several political parties who have secured the largest number of seats in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis nominate a person to the position of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following the results of the latest elections, the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan won the greatest number of seats (53) in the lower house. During a recent meeting of the party’s Political Council, the candidacy of Abdulla Aripov was approved for the post of the Prime Minister and subsequently presented to the President of Uzbekistan.
At this joint session, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev submitted the nominee for the post of the Prime Minister on to the Oliy Majlis.
Abdulla Aripov delivered a speech to present and outline an Action Plan of the Cabinet of Ministers for the near and medium term.
Speakers at the meeting expressed their views in support of the priorities set forth in the President’s speech and approved the nominee for the post of the Prime Minister.
The two chambers of the Oliy Majlis passed a resolution on the approval of Abdulla Aripov at the post of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
