Today, December 31, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the phone.
The heads of state warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year.
It was noted with satisfaction that the year 2019 has become a landmark in terms of the consolidation of friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations. The historic significance of Uzbekistan’s accession to the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States was stressed in particular.
Bilateral contacts at various levels have noticeably intensified, mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation is developing dynamically, promising joint projects are realized, and scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
During the conversation, the Presidents noted the importance of upcoming summits and visits in terms of the enhancing mutually advantageous partnerships in politics, economy, transport communications, tourism, education, healthcare and other areas.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan also exchanged views on the international and regional agendas.
