Today, December 30, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev.

The two heads of state exchanged heartfelt congratulations on the upcoming New Year.

It was noted with satisfaction that this year has become an important historical period in strengthening the good neighborliness between the two nations, their strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. That was facilitated by the fruitful results of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev stressed the intensification of bilateral contacts at various levels, the development of inter-parliamentary and inter-regional cooperation, the growth of trade, the successful implementation of cooperation projects in mechanical engineering, transport and logistics, the enhancement of cultural and humanitarian ties in the framework of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed topical issues on the regional and international agenda.
