President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received October 4 the President of the Turkey Union of Commerce Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, Mustafa Rifat Hisarciklioglu, who is in our country on a working visit.
The head of our state, while welcoming the guest, noted with satisfaction that the relations of friendship, partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years.
The fruitful negotiations, it was noted, that took place during state visits in Turkey in the fall of 2017 and in Uzbekistan last spring laid a solid foundation for the enhancement of constructive political dialogue and practical cooperation.
The importance was emphasized of comprehensive implementation of the agreements reached, vigorous promotion of joint projects in such areas as trade, innovation, energy, infrastructure development, transport, tourism, textile and food industries, and other sectors.
During the meeting, Rifat Hisarciklioglu expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As suggestive of the growing interest of Turkish business in exploring the Uzbek market and building up business ties, more than 750 joint ventures have been set up in recent years and the bilateral trade has more than doubled.
Rifat Hisarciklioglu stressed that representatives of Turkish business circles – members of the Union of Commerce Chambers and Commodity Exchanges are willing to actively participate in the realization of priority projects and intend to discuss these issues with Uzbek partners during the upcoming first Investment Forum in Tashkent and the session of the Business Council of Turkic-speaking states.
Toward the end of the meeting, the guest confirmed readiness to contribute to establishing long-term business bonds and promoting practical cooperation in order to further strengthen the Uzbek-Turkish friendship and strategic partnership.
