Shavkat Mirziyoyev, two years ago, on April 19, 2016, launched the construction of Kandym Gas Processing Complex in Bukhara region. For the past time, a large industrial complex and a small town have been built here. 

The opening ceremony of this complex took place on April 19, 2018. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in it. 

The Head of the state noted that activities carried out within the framework of the Action Strategy serve consistent development of leading industries. 

Active attraction of foreign direct investments in fuel and energy sector and the Kandym Gas Processing Complex itself are another bright embodiment of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. The President expressed gratitude to the engineers and builders, wished success to the staff of the enterprise. 

The congratulatory message of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was read by the Minister of Energy of this country Alexander Novak. 

The president of the Lukoil Company Vagit Alekperov, engineer of Kandym Gas Processing Complex Shakhzod Kurbonov, and veteran of the oil and gas industry Komil Fozilov addressed the event. 

Symbolic start button of the complex has been pressed. 

The complex will process 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which will allow producing purified gas, gas condensate, sulfur and other products. More than 2 thousand people will be employed. 

This large project worth more than $3 billion was realized in cooperation with “Uzbekneftgaz” JSC and Russia’s Lukoil Company. 114 wells have been constructed, a gas collection and processing system has been built. Complex technical solutions, advanced technologies were applied in this process. Roads, terminals, main gas pipeline, electricity and water supply networks and other infrastructure facilities are built. 

A town for 1150 people is built in a remote steppe area of Karakul district. Necessary conditions for living and recreation of employees of the complex are created. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev became acquainted with the technological process of the complex, inspected the laboratory and the operator control room.
