At the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on October 7-9.
In the Avaza National Tourist Zone, the President of Uzbekistan will participate in the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as the regular summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The agenda of the Consultative Meeting includes further strengthening political and diplomatic cooperation, deepening trade and economic ties, expanding cooperation in the energy sector, taking joint measures to protect the environment and adapt to climate change, developing cultural, educational, and scientific ties, and promoting youth exchanges.
An exchange of views is also expected on topical issues on the regional and international agenda, as well as on ensuring peace, stability, and security.
At the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, the leaders will review the results of multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth and consider prospects for its further development. Special attention will be paid to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the CIS.
A package of joint documents is expected to be adopted following the meetings.
The visit program also includes a series of bilateral meetings.
