On May 12, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil Mauro Vieira.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan from the President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The parties discussed issues related to further strengthening Uzbek-Brazilian relations and elevating multifaceted cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The importance of establishing a systemic dialogue at the highest level and intensifying political and inter-parliamentary contacts was emphasized.

The sides discussed increasing bilateral trade, expanding business ties, and advancing joint projects in the chemical, electrical engineering, pharmaceutical, and other sectors.

Prospects for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, breeding, tourism, sports, and other areas were noted. To ensure the practical implementation of the tasks outlined, a proposal was made to establish an Intergovernmental Commission.

The parties also exchanged views on current international issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
