On April 22, as part of his working visit to Kazakhstan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the heads of delegations from Central Asian countries, as well as Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, visited national pavilions at the Regional Ecological Summit exhibition held at the EXPO International Exhibition Center in Astana.

RES-2026 focuses on eight priority areas reflecting a comprehensive approach to environmental policy: combating climate change; ensuring food security and ecosystem sustainability; adapting to natural risks and increasing economic resilience; reducing air pollution and ensuring effective waste management; developing mechanisms for achieving environmental goals; ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources; advancing a just and inclusive green transition; as well as developing environmental and digital competencies. The summit agenda covers both environmental and broader socio-economic dimensions of sustainable development.

Participating countries are showcasing their achievements and future plans in these areas through their national pavilions.

The Uzbekistan pavilion, designed as an interactive multimedia exhibition space, highlights the key priorities of state policy in the fields of ecology, climate change, and sustainable development in Central Asia. It also reflects Uzbekistan’s contribution to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the field of ecology.

The high-level guests were presented with an exposition featuring key initiatives aimed at shaping a modern model of environmental development. These include nationwide projects such as “Waste-Free Territory,” “Clean Air,” “Yashil Makon,” “Eco-Culture,” “Bio-Heritage,” and “Environmental Education.”

Special attention was given to addressing the consequences of the Aral Sea disaster, as well as to developing partnerships with international organizations, particularly UN agencies.
