President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, accompanied by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was briefed on the capabilities of Uzbekistan’s light industry.
The heads of state visited the Nigora factory, part of the Merganteks cotton and textile cluster in the Bukhara region.
Established as part of a $35 million project, the enterprise provides a full production cycle, from processing raw cotton to manufacturing finished fabrics and garments.
Clothing and finished products, manufactured under the “Shoyigul” brand are primarily exported to European countries, including Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The facility has created 840 jobs.
The enterprise is equipped with modern, high-tech machinery from China, Germany, and Belgium that meets international standards. As part of the second phase, production of synthetic fibers and related finished products will be launched.
The distinguished guests visited the showroom and were presented with the enterprise’s finished products.
The Tajik delegation highly commended the quality of the enterprise’s products, with annual export volumes reaching $10 million.
The presidents emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between leading enterprises of the two countries.
