President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Pavilion of National Cultural Centers in the Yakkasaraydistrict of the capital.
Representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities live in Uzbekistan as one friendly family, with 157 national cultural centers in operation. This diversity is a unique social phenomenon formed over centuries of historical development.
In Uzbekistan, the development of national cultures, the preservation and strengthening of interethnic harmony, and the upbringing of the younger generation in a spirit of tolerance and solidarity are priority areas of state policy.
A clear reflection of this policy is the pavilion located in Dustlik Park, on the square adjacent to the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries. Its architectural design reflects the distinctive features of twenty-two nations.
The site features Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, and Bashkir yurts, along with two-story friendship houses representing the Korean, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Greek, German, Dungan, Polish, Jewish, Georgian, Armenian, Tatar and Crimean Tatar, Uyghur, Turkish, Tajik, Chinese, Russian, and Azerbaijani peoples.
The interiors are designed in line with the national traditions of each people represented. The exhibition includes national costumes, musical instruments, examples of decorative and applied arts, historical models, and a wide range of exhibits reflecting rich cultural heritage.
Today, the pavilion is imbued with the festive spirit of Navruz, a holiday that embodies the noble ideals of friendship and harmony.
The President reviewed the activities of each house and held sincere conversations with participants.
During the meetings, the contribution of national cultural centers to organizing nationwide celebrations at a high level was particularly noted. Appreciation was expressed to compatriots of different nationalities who, through their patriotism and selfless work, contribute to strengthening the socio-economic potential of the country.
The Head of State viewed the artistic program organized for the pavilion’s guests and took a photograph with representatives of the national cultural centers.
