President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the Digital Control Center established at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
This center plays an important role in coordinating production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring continuous monitoring at the complex’s Copper Concentrator Plants No. 1, 2, and 3.
Using modern digital control systems, large-screen monitoring panels, video surveillance tools, as well as the Siemens PCS 7 and AVEVA PI Vision platforms, the processes of crushing, flotation, thickening, filtration, reagent supply, process water supply, and the operations of workshops and the transport system are monitored in real time.
The center effectively serves as the plant’s “brain,” with more than 20,000 pieces of equipment connected to a single information system. Preliminary monitoring is carried out using smart cameras, while artificial intelligence automatically detects anomalous situations. This enables data to be analyzed through a unified information system and supports prompt decision-making.
During his visit to the center, the President noted that there are significant opportunities to increase efficiency through artificial intelligence, particularly in the mining and metallurgical industries. At the same time, special attention was paid to the need for the widespread introduction of modern resource-saving technologies for the rational use of water resources.
Here, plans for the further digitalization of the complex’s production and technological processes were presented to the Head of State.
As noted, all processes, from ore extraction at the mine to the production of finished goods, are being digitalized step by step. Over the next five years, artificial intelligence solutions are planned to be widely introduced at each stage.
Information was also provided on the progress of digitalizing the mines based on geological and surveying data accumulated over eighty years. In particular, the Digital Mine system enables the precise determination of directions for daily, weekly, and monthly excavation work.
The condition of quarry roads is monitored using artificial intelligence, while sensors track the pressure and temperature of dump truck tires. As a result of such continuous monitoring, the service life of the tires has increased by 14 percent.
It was emphasized that one of the priority tasks is to train specialists who have thoroughly mastered modern technologies and to prepare personnel based on new working methods and digital solutions.
Particular attention was also paid to expanding patent activities. The need to patent scientific and technological solutions used at each stage of the plant, strengthen cooperation with relevant organizations in this area, and identify promising innovative directions was emphasized.
As noted, a new patent means a new technology, a new production line, and new markets. Taking into account that the country’s rich raw material base creates broad opportunities for entering global markets, the task was set to develop clear approaches to determining in which promising areas and in what volume new patents can be obtained in 2026.
