A meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was held in a tête-à-tête format at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.
At the beginning of the talks, the heads of state warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, sacred to the entire Muslim ummah.
They substantively discussed the further expansion of the Uzbek-Turkish comprehensive strategic partnership, primarily in the political, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The current high level of engagement and active dialogue at all levels was noted with satisfaction. The sides welcomed the fruitful outcomes of the recent meeting of the Strategic Planning Group in the "4+4" format.
The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of flights between the two countries continue to grow steadily. Joint cultural events are held on a regular basis.
The need to promote projects and programs in industry, agriculture, social protection, and other priority areas was emphasized.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation and coordination in defense and security, as well as in combating cybercrime.
The leaders also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
