President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of Saudi companies headed by the co-chairman of the Uzbek-Saudi Business council, head of “ACWA Power” company Mohammad Abunayyan. 

Issues of further expanding practical cooperation and accelerating priority joint projects have been reviewed.

The Head of our state noted with deep satisfaction the dynamic development of fruitful cooperation with ACWA Power, a strategic investor in Uzbekistan’s green energy sector. 

Today a ceremony for launching a number of joint projects was held: 4 wind power plants with the capacity of 752 megawatts were connected to the network, the start of construction was given to 5 power plants with the aggregate capacity of 2,3 gigawatt and energy storage systems of 300 megawatt in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Bukhara region. 

Moreover, work has started on the construction of a power line of 500 kilovolt with the length of 1790 kilometers, connecting Samarkand to Tashkent region, and Republic of Karakalpakstan to Bukhara region.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the promotion of cooperation projects in energy and transport infrastructure modernization, development of IT technologies, healthcare, agriculture and other sectors.
