President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited “InvestAsia” enterprise located in “Syrdarya” free economic zone. 

The enterprise is one of the leaders in Central Asia in the production of packaging products. Currently its share is 60 percent of polypropylene bags and soft containers, as well as 40 percent of stretch wrap.

The complex is located on 60 hectares, about 2,5 thousand jobs have been created here.

The packaging products are necessary for many sectors – from food industry to pharmaceuticals, industry, construction and household chemicals. Its quality directly affects safe storage, transportation and timely supply of products to the markets. Therefore the domestic production of such products decreases import dependence, provides stability of the domestic market and significantly reduces the costs of manufacturers.

Another important feature of the “InvestAsia” enterprise is that it is the only place in the country where biaxially oriented polypropylene wrap is produced. Known for its strength and lightness, this packaging material has gained popularity in its segment.

In the first ten months of this year, the enterprise produced goods worth 1.9 trillion soums, with exports amounting to $23 million. Production is carried out using high-tech equipment manufactured in countries such as Austria, Germany, Italy, China, and the United States.

The President reviewed the technological processes and future plans, and spoke with the employees.

By the end of the year, the largest nonwoven material production facilities in Central Asia for spunbond and meltblown are expected to be launched here. These materials are widely used in medicine, construction, household chemicals, and agriculture.

It is expected that once all projects reach full capacity, the number of jobs will reach 10 thousand, and polymer processing capacity will increase to 280 thousand tons.

The Head of our state also held a dialogue with foreign investors implementing major projects in the region and proposing new initiatives. It was emphasized that any project that contributes to the region’s economic development, increases employment, and improves the quality of life of the population will definitely receive government support.

The investors highly praised the business and investment climate in our country and expressed gratitude to the President for the broad opportunities created for business and the constant attention.
