On November 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding a group of healthcare workers on the occasion of Medical Workers' Day.
Today, a ceremony was held at Tashkent State Medical University to award honorary titles, orders, and medals to the recipients.
Among those awarded are young doctors who have undergone training and internships at leading foreign universities, as well as foreign partners who provide extensive assistance in strengthening the health of our population.
It was noted that reforms aimed at sustainable economic development, job creation and sources of income, modern education for young people and strengthening the health of the population are being carried out at an accelerated pace in our country.
As a result, the capacity of primary care facilities has increased by 60 percent, and medical care has become much more accessible to the population. More than 400 high-tech diagnostic and treatment methods, previously performed mainly in the capital, have been introduced in the regions. Hundreds of complex operations have begun to be performed at the regional level, and minimally invasive procedures at the district level.
- For the first time, kidney transplant operations have been established in 45 regions - this is clear evidence of our practical work in protecting human health, - said the President. - Life expectancy in our country has increased: for men - from 71 to 73 years, for women - from 76 to 77.5 years. This is our great joint success. More than 600 thousand dedicated healthcare workers have made a worthy contribution to these good deeds, and no amount of gratitude we express will be enough.
The President solemnly presented state awards and congratulated the awardees on behalf of our entire nation.
