As part of the business program of his working visit to Washington D.C., President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Shilpan Amin, global executive director of "General Motors International" company.
Issues related to the further expansion of long-term cooperation with this global corporation were discussed. The important role and significance of General Motors International in the development and diversification of our country's automotive industry was noted.
Over the past five years, the company has produced 1.6 million cars, and Uzbekistan has become the second largest market for the Chevrolet brand after the United States and the sales leader in the markets of Central Asia and the CIS.
Particular attention was paid to the further development of production cooperation, expansion of the range of products manufactured, and deepening of localization.
The prospects for implementing joint projects in the field of new technologies and raw materials in demand in modern mechanical engineering were discussed.
