On September 12, a telephone conversation was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Topical issues of Uzbek-Qatari relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation were reviewed.
In the beginning of the conversation, the Head of our state strongly condemned the recent Israeli missile strikes on the Qatari capital Doha. It was noted that such unacceptable actions, which violate independence and sovereignty and pose a threat to Qatar's security, are contrary to the Charter of the United Nations and the fundamental norms and principles of international law.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan opposes any use of force in international relations and steps that could lead to further escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
The President of Uzbekistan wished success to the emergency Arab-Islamic summit convened at the initiative of Qatar.
In turn, the Amir of Qatar expressed his deep gratitude for the solidarity and support.
During the telephone conversation, the issues of continuing active political contacts and taking coordinated measures to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects between leading companies of the two countries were also discussed.
