In the framework of the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was held.
The Head of our state warmly congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the high-level organization of the global UN Conference, held in the International year of peace and trust, and sincerely expressed gratitude for being awarded Turkmenistan’s high state order – the Order “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation”.
Current issues of further expanding Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed in the context of preparations for upcoming high-level events.
The dynamic growth of mutual trade, deepening of cooperation in industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management, were noted with satisfaction. Active interregional and humanitarian exchanges are also continuing.
The importance of ensuring the effectiveness of this year’s planned meetings of intergovernmental commissions, Business Council, Forum of Regions and a number of cultural events was emphasized.
An exchange of views on the regional agenda also took place, and the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings was reviewed.
