The work on full disclosure of the potential of all regions of the country continues. On December 31 last year, the Presidential Decree on accelerated socio-economic development of Jizzakh region was adopted, which envisages specific measures to attract $2 billion of investments, bring exports to $285 million and provide employment for 168 thousand people in 2025.
These tasks are consistently implemented. Only for the past six months in Jizzakh region 200 projects were implemented in industry, services and agriculture. The total amount of attracted investments amounted to $662 million.
A special reform headquarters has been set up in Zaamin district to improve the effectiveness of the reforms.
During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev viewed the presentation of new projects planned to be implemented in the region.
In particular, an Agro-Center has been set up on the principles of “single window” to unite all agricultural services in one place. Modern approaches focused on increasing crop yields have a positive impact on the quality of food products in the region and contribute to the growth of incomes of the population.
Jizzakh region is considered as a reference region for the development of potato breeding. To date, primary seed production of 12 potato varieties of domestic and foreign selection has been organized at Zaamin experimental and research station.
If the traditional process of growing seed potatoes takes 6-7 years and includes 8 stages, the new technology reduces it to 4 stages and 2 years. Within the framework of the initiative, 12 tons of super elite seed potatoes will be distributed free of charge to households, which will yield 120 tons of seeds.
There are also plans to sow legume crops and construct pumping stations and main pipelines on a canal in Zarbdor district.
Due to the diverse natural landscape - mountains and steppes - Jizzakh region has a unique tourist potential. The development of the tourist and recreational zone “Zomin”, the reconstruction of Zaamin airport and the construction of new roads have significantly expanded the opportunities of the industry. Recreation zones have been created on the banks of the six largest canals. In the near future, a modern tourist cluster will be built on the shores of the Aidar-Arnasay lake system.
- We strive to develop industry in every district and create jobs. Modern enterprises are appearing where there used to be bare steppe. People also receive income from their crafts, homestead plots. But these are only today's results. A new generation is growing up, the knowledge and ambitions of our young people are growing. Already now we must lay the foundation for their successful life. If we wisely use the existing opportunities, Zaamin district can completely eliminate unemployment, - mentioned President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As a reminder, a palace and an arts school, a comprehensive school and a sports complex are being built nearby in the new center of Kukdala district. The Head of State emphasized the importance of creating such convenient conditions for children and recommended that this approach be applied in other regions as well. Thus, a palace of culture and a school of arts are planned to be built in Zaamin district.
The projected palace of culture will have 300 seats and serve more than 45 thousand residents of the district center. The folklore-ethnographic ensemble “Zomin Saykali” and 13 creative circles will work here.
Responsible persons have been given instructions to ensure the implementation of these projects and further development of the social and economic sphere in the region.
The President's visit to Jizzakh region ended here.
