President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of construction of a plant for production of household appliances in Zaamin district of Jizzakh region.

Uzbekistan has significant potential in this field. The Head of State has set a task to establish production of new products under national brands and turn Uzbekistan into a regional electrotechnical hub. The enterprise in Zaamin will be a part of this strategy.

The complex is organized as a branch of Navoi Industrial Park and is located on an area of 80 hectares. The total cost of the project is $150 million. The plant will produce 1 million units of household appliances and components per year, including washing machines, refrigerators, TV sets, and water heaters. The range will comprise about 100 items, with the localization level reaching 70 percent.

Of particular importance is the volume of annual production, which will amount to $320 million, of which $140 million will be exported. More than 7 thousand jobs will be created at the enterprise.

Finished products manufactured in the industrial park will be exported to more than 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and others.

In order to promptly adapt to changing market requirements, the plant will have its own mold production shop, as well as a modern logistics center for efficient delivery of goods to the customer.

In addition, within the framework of the industrial park it is planned to establish production of plastic products for enterprises that are part of “Uzavtosanoat” JSC.
