On July 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh region and got acquainted with the activities of the special industrial zone “Zaamin Technopark”.

Construction of this complex was initiated by the Head of State on June 27 last year. Within the framework of the project, implemented on the territory of 400 hectares, together with Chinese investors it is planned to implement 31 investment projects totaling $1.2 billion.

Over the past period, the necessary infrastructure has been created and production facilities have been built. Recently, the first enterprise - the project of the Chinese company “Xinjiang Honglin Tiandi” for the production of concrete products worth $10 million - has started its work. Sixty jobs have already been created here.

Works on implementation of the second project worth $42 million are at the final stage. Within the framework of this project under Midea brand it is planned to establish production of 300 thousand units of household electrical appliances per year. 150 new jobs will be created.

The President was presented with data on these and subsequent initiatives.

Within the first phase, 9 projects have been placed in the industrial zone. At present, construction work is underway on 7 more projects with a total cost of about $300 million. Production of building materials, metal structures, electrical and chemical products will be established, and a logistics and training center will be set up.

In general, the implementation of all projects in the technopark will allow to produce industrial products worth about 5 trillion soums, master the production of 15 new products and ensure export potential in the amount of $70 million. Most importantly, more than 5 thousand jobs will be created.

The Head of State gave instructions to accelerate the implementation of projects, provide comprehensive support to investors, and emphasized the importance of training qualified specialists for new industries and providing employment for young people.
