The Head of State was presented with a draft decree aimed at further development of fine and applied arts.

These spheres are an integral part of our national culture and upbringing of youth. However over decades the artists haven’t been paid significant attention. This is why during the expanded meeting of the Republican council on spirituality and enlightenment the President separately dwelling on this issue, gave instructions to the responsible persons.

According to the prepared decree, in the framework of the Investment program for 2026-2027 it’s planned to reconstruct the Central exhibition hall and the fund of Arts academy, as well as create a Multi-media center in the Photography house in Tashkent.

Special attention will be paid to expanding the opportunities of young arts enthusiasts. In particular, the Center for Young Artists will be built on the territory of the Art Fund, including a modern gallery and 40 creative workshops. A training and production workshop will be created in the Museum of Oriental Miniatures. The building of the Benkov School of Painting will be renovated, a new educational building for 400 places and a dormitory for 200 places will be built.

Experienced artists working with young people on the principle of “master - apprentice” will be additionally encouraged. Every year, on a competitive basis, the most talented young artists will be sent abroad to exchange experience.

The Kamoliddin Bekhzod National Institute of painting and design will take measures to improve the quality of education. Advanced foreign training programs and courses will be introduced here step by step. Works of high artistic level of the teaching staff will be equated to scientific monographs. In addition, graduates of the Institute will be granted the right to teach fine arts in schools.

A system of state support will also be introduced for the production of creative works on the series “Landscapes of New Uzbekistan”, “Outstanding Thinkers” and “Heroes of Our Time”.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of improving conditions for artists and involving young people in fine and applied arts in the regions.
