On June 17 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the projects in construction and public transport development planned in Tashkent.
Thanks to the sustainable growth of investment attractiveness in the past years the pace of urban development in the capital has been accelerated. Construction of multi-story residential buildings, hotels, business centers, cultural and sports complexes is expanding infrastructure and economic potential of the city. Construction of New Tashkent has begun in parallel – together with the existing city it will create a modern megalopolis.
Quality and reliability is of particular importance when implementing such major and long-term projects. On June 13 under the chairmanship of the President a meeting was held dedicated to these issues.
The Head of State underlined the priority of quality and security in construction, instructing to develop a scientific approach and implement modern standards in the field.
During today’s presentation information was presented on the accomplished work in this area. According to the task, issues of conformity with the security requirements of the new multi-story buildings were analyzed again. Scientific and technical conclusions of over 10 organizations were received, including “UzGASHKLITI”, Institute of seismology of the Academy of sciences, General directorate of emergency situations, sanitary and epidemiological services and others. In accordance with the updated requirements, the seismic stability of the new buildings should be no less than 9 points. A comprehensive expert conclusion will be formed for each project.
With the growth of high buildings and new complexes there’s a need for sustainable electricity supply. In this regard, a new substation with the capacity of 160 megawatt is planned to be constructed in Chilanzar district. This will ensure future projects in this district with energy without the overload of the existing networks.
Additionally creation of a water reservoir with the capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters is planned in this district. This will allow to ensure uninterrupted water supply in Chilanzar, Shaykhantakhur and Uchtepa districts. Around 8 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity will be saved every day.
Tashkent is increasingly becoming the place for organizing large business events, forums and exhibitions. One of such objects is Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (САЕх) complex. Given organization of international conferences, it’s planned to develop conference rooms there.
On the most important factors of city attractiveness is a convenient public transport. The network of bus routes and subway lines in the capital is being consistently extended.
As previously reported, it is planned to extend the metro system to the territory of the Tashkent Tractor Plant. The project will be realized in two stages. At the first stage Chilanzar direction will be extended from Pushkin station to Tashkent ring road - on the surface. At the second stage it is planned to build an underground line from the ring road to the main bus station on the territory of the TTP massif.
In addition, in order to relieve traffic flows, it is envisaged to conduct this railway line under the Tashkent Ring Road. Construction of the underground section will be organized without stopping street traffic. It is expected that the new subway line will cover up to 85 thousand passengers per day.
Another promising project is a metro line to the city of New Tashkent. It will start from “Dustlik” metro station and reach the new administrative center. The length of the route will be 21 kilometers, it will include 9 stations. It is expected that this line will be able to serve up to 230 thousand passengers per day.
Technical and economic parameters of the presented projects were discussed at the presentation. The Head of State gave instructions on improving the quality of construction, building culture and ensuring maximum convenience for the population.
