On May 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Kholiknazar.
In these blessed days, our compatriots are in sacred Mecca to perform Hajj rites. The Head of State inquired about the conditions created for the pilgrims, as well as their health and mood.
The Mufti noted that all the necessary organizational measures have been taken for the full performance of the Hajj ritual.
At present, all 15 thousand pilgrims from Uzbekistan have arrived in Saudi Arabia. They are accompanied by more than 300 group leaders, 50 highly qualified doctors, more than 10 cooks and other specialists.
This year, at the request of the Uzbek side, closed tents surrounded by heat-insulating panels and equipped with a cooling system, carpets and bedding were installed in the Arafat Valley. This provides additional comfort for pilgrims in the summer heat.
In general, preparations for the current Hajj season have been carried out at a higher level and all the necessary facilities have been provided. Filled with a sense of gratitude, our compatriots in the holy places pray to the Almighty for peace and well-being of our country and people.
Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazar conveyed the greetings and kind words of the pilgrims to the President. The Head of State sent his warm greetings to all pilgrims and wished them a safe return to their homeland.
The conversation was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The hope was expressed that upon their return to Uzbekistan, the distinguished pilgrims would become an example in strengthening the social environment in their mahallas, helping the needy and educating the youth.
