On May 20, as part of the official visit program in Budapest, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary László Kövér.

The discussions focused on the further development of Uzbek-Hungarian strategic partnership relations, including inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The intensity of mutual visits and meetings between parliamentary delegations of the two countries was noted with satisfaction. In April this year, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly János Latorcai took part in the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Tashkent. By the end of the year, visits to Uzbekistan are planned by the Deputy Speaker and the Head of the Economic

Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, as well as a visit by an Uzbek parliamentary delegation to Budapest.

Special attention was paid to the importance of assisting the implementation of signed agreements, enhancing the activities of friendship groups, and establishing contacts between relevant committees, particularly for sharing legislative experience in areas such as regional development, social protection, taxation and digitalization.
