President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with information on planned projects for developing Tashkent metro.
The metro occupies a special place in the capital's public transportation system. New lines are being built to improve passenger convenience. The Yunusabad line was extended to Turkiston station, Chilanzar line - to Sergeli district. On the initiative of the Head of State, Tashkent also has an overground metro - a circular line from Dustlik station to Sergeli has been built. These new directions connected Yunusabad, Yashnabad, Bektemir, Mirabad, Sergeli and Yangikhayot districts, creating convenience for everyday travel of citizens.
It is now planned to extend the metro to the Tashkent Tractor Plant massif. During previous discussions, the President instructed to optimize the project in terms of cost and convenience. According to the prepared proposal, the project will be implemented in two stages. At the first stage, an overground line will be built from Pushkin station of the Chilanzar line to Feruz massif in Mirzo-Ulugbek district, parallel to the existing railroad tracks. At the second stage it will be extended to the bus station on the TTZ massif.
Currently, about 47 thousand cars enter the city center daily from this direction, carrying a total of 194 thousand passengers. It is expected that the new metro line will serve 85 thousand passengers per day.
