At a meeting held on April 9 the Head of our state underlined that due to the rich history, culture and unique nature of Uzbekistan the number of tourists can be increased by 2-3 times.
One of the prospective places for developing tourism is “Chorvok darvozasi” complex in Bostanlyk district. In December last year the President personally got acquainted with the progress of its construction, and the first implementation stage of the project was concluded recently. The complex includes 16 apartment buildings, 3 hotels, retail and residential facilities, cafes and restaurants, a bank office and a parking lot. Additionally the initiative to build a small hydroelectric power plant on the Chirchik river to provide the facility with inexpensive and environmentally friendly electricity was also outlined.
Another project is the construction of an oceanarium in the Yashnabad district of the capital. The new tourist facility will occupy an area of 20 hectares on the bank of the Chirchik River. It is planned to build a shopping and hotel complex nearby, which will create 1.6 thousand new jobs.
Additionally it is envisaged to develop a housing and business complex with multi-storey buildings, kindergartens, schools, sports and health centers, a hotel and office premises in Yakassaray district.
The President noted the need to comprehensively consider the legal, financial and infrastructural aspects of the projects and instructed to develop a clear action plan. Responsible persons have been instructed to determine the exact timing and quality requirements, as well as to ensure strict control over implementation.
