On April 7, on the margins of the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.
At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed to the leader of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and good wishes of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Topical issues of further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.
Effective work carried out jointly within the framework of the Year of Economic Cooperation was noted with satisfaction. The volumes of trade turnover are growing, cooperation projects in various sectors of economy are in active phase. Cultural and humanitarian events are regularly held.
The importance of continuing close practical cooperation and active exchanges through the parliaments to monitor the implementation of agreements and generate new proposals for the upcoming summits at the highest level was emphasized.
