On April 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, who is leading the Russian delegation at the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of our state cordially congratulated Valentina Matvienko on her birthday, warmly wishing her good health, prosperity and great success.

The Chairman of the Federation Council expressed sincere gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan and conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Issues of further deepening Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.

Fruitful inter-parliamentary contacts were highly appreciated.

The importance of continuing active interaction to ensure parliamentary control over the implementation of agreements at the highest level was emphasized.

Special attention was paid to ensuring the dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, support for industrial cooperation projects and humanitarian exchange programs.
