On April 3, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the margins of the summit in Samarkand.
Topical issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in the context of agreements reached during the recent informal meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Almaty were discussed.
The importance of taking coordinated measures by the two governments to increase trade turnover, promote economic projects and humanitarian programs, including at the regional level, was noted.
It was agreed to accelerate work on the launch of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation.
Views on the regional agenda were also exchanged, and the schedule of high-level events was reviewed.
