President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met on the margins of the Samarkand Summit on April 3.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan noted with particular satisfaction the fruitful trilateral meeting of the heads of state held on March 31 in Khujand, in the course of which the historic Treaty on the junction point of state borders was signed.
The issues of practical implementation of the agreements at the highest level were discussed, particularly measures to accelerate the implementation of important cooperation projects in the sphere of industry, transport, energy and infrastructure.
The heads of state emphasized the need to continue active interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Views were also exchanged on the schedule of upcoming events and other topical issues of regional cooperation.
