In the framework of a telephone conversation held on March 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev warmly congratulated each other and the brotherly people of the two countries on a spring holiday Navruz, sincerely wishing peace, wellbeing and prosperity.

The most relevant issues of further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance were discussed in detail.

Particular attention has been paid to the implementation of plans of practical interaction in the context of realizing agreements reached as a result of the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan in August last year.

The joint productive work in the framework of the Year of economic cooperation has been noted with special satisfaction. Trade turnover is increasing, projects in the spheres of machine building, textile, electronics, energy, agriculture, tourism and many others are in active phase.

Additionally, events in the framework of cultural and humanitarian exchange are held regularly.

The leaders exchanged views on the issues of international agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings and multilateral summits on high and highest levels.
