Today, on March 6, a solemn ceremony of presenting credentials of newly appointed foreign ambassadors to our country took place.
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received credentials from Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt Tamer Fathi, the Italian Republic Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, the Kyrgyz Republic Duyshonkul Chotonov, the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Ogorodnikov, Georgia David Kotaria and the Republic of Türkiye Ufuk Ulutash.
The Head of our state sincerely congratulated the heads of diplomatic missions on the start of their honorable mission in New Uzbekistan.
It has been noted that in the current period of escalating conflicts and growing geopolitical competition in the world, mutual support of friendly states is more important than ever.
In these conditions, Uzbekistan, through its open and pragmatic foreign policy, is strengthening mutual respect and friendship, developing practical partnership with states from all regions of the world, international organizations and global financial institutions.
The President emphasized that owing to common political will, Central Asia is turning into a region of good-neighborliness, trust and integration.
This year Uzbekistan is chairing the Consultative Meetings of Heads of State of Central Asia and preparing for the historic summit in the city of Tashkent.
It was emphasized that in connection with the ongoing dynamic changes, interest in our region is rapidly growing and the dialogue platform “Central Asia Plus” is expanding.
In April this year our country will host the first summit “Central Asia - European Union”, and in May - the second meeting in the format of “Central Asia - Arab Gulf States”.
It has been separately noted that 11 resolutions have been adopted at the initiative of Uzbekistan within the framework of the United Nations in recent years.
This year our country will host the 150th jubilee Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO, in 2027 Uzbekistan will chair the Non-Aligned Movement, which also confirms the growing authority of the state in the international arena.
Last year, the volume of attracted foreign investments amounted to $35 billion, exports exceeded $27 billion. Preparations are underway for the Tashkent Investment Forum, which will be held in a new innovative format.
- The main goal of our reforms is to ensure the interests of every person and increase the population's income, create an “economy of the future” and advanced infrastructure, provide an attractive investment and business environment. We have sufficient potential and opportunities, most importantly strong aspiration and political will to implement ambitious goals and plans set within the framework of the Strategy “Uzbekistan – 2030”, - emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Gratitude has been expressed to the governments of the countries represented by the heads of diplomatic missions for supporting Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization.
Addressing the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Head of our state noted that Egypt is a reliable partner of Uzbekistan in the Middle East.
Political consultations are held regularly. Last year, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, 3 major business forums were successfully held. Cooperation between leading companies of the two countries is expanding.
It was emphasized that the visit of the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to our country will be an important event for the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations.
Prospects for the implementation of joint programs and projects in energy, chemistry, agriculture, geology, tourism, textile and other sectors with the participation of leading organizations and companies of Egypt were noted.
The Head of our state highly appreciated the initiative of the Egyptian President to adopt the Gaza reconstruction plan put forward at the recent summit of the Arab League.
The leader of Uzbekistan said that Italy is an important strategic partner with huge political and economic potential.

The importance of organizing the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council at the highest level in Uzbekistan this year to promote new promising areas and specific projects was noted.
At the end of the ceremony, the Head of our state wished the newly appointed ambassadors great success in their honorable and responsible mission, called for the effective use of all available opportunities to strengthen partnership, and recommended active interaction with regions and representatives of private business.
In turn, the diplomats expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the conditions created for their fruitful work, and emphasized their readiness to use all professional experience and knowledge to actively promote multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan.
