President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Malaysia on February 4-5 at the invitation of Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.
The program of the visit to Kuala Lumpur includes bilateral talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, meetings with top managers of leading Malaysian companies, participation in a joint business forum and other events.
The agenda of the upcoming high-level contacts includes issues of further deepening Uzbek-Malaysian relations of friendship and expanding practical cooperation, including in such priority areas and spheres as trade, investment, innovation, technological cooperation, petrochemicals, electronics, green energy, smart agriculture, tourism and many others. Particular attention will be paid to enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The leaders will also consider current aspects of international politics and regional cooperation.
Following the summit, it is planned to adopt a Joint Statement and a solid package of agreements aimed at further developing a full-scale partnership between the two countries.
It should be noted that a number of important events are being held in Malaysia in anticipation of the visit.
In particular, a meeting of leading analytical centers and research structures has already taken place. In the coming days, presentations of the tourism potential and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, a forum of rectors of leading universities of the two countries and other events will be held.
