In a telephone conversation held on December 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordially congratulated each other and the fraternal people of the two countries on the year of 2025, sincerely wishing health, happiness, well-being, peace and prosperity.

A thorough exchange of views was held on topical issues of further developing and strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.

The dynamic growth of mutual trade turnover, expansion of cooperation in energy, transport, industry, agriculture and water management, intensification of interdepartmental and interregional contacts, business and cultural and humanitarian exchanges have been noted with great satisfaction.

The Head of our state emphasized the high-level international events held this year in connection with the wide celebration of the 300th anniversary of poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi. It was noted that Uzbek and Turkmen cinematographers have made a feature film. A number of joint events were also held.

During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of regional interaction in the context of preparations for the next session of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
