President Shavkat Mirziyoyev examines construction and improvement projects in New Tashkent.
The symbolic foundation stone of the new city was laid on March 18, 2023. At the ceremony, the President emphasized that New Tashkent will be a “green city” - special attention will be paid to clean air and water, use of alternative energy sources and planting a large number of plants. The implementation of the “green belt” project will also begin here: the Central Park will be created on an area of 420 hectares and 200 thousand trees will be planted.
A nursery is already functioning on a 50-hectare plot, which was visited by the President today. The Head of State inspected the seedlings, studied the plans of landscape design, as well as the systems of irrigation and maintenance of future green areas.
So far, 27 thousand ornamental seedlings have been grown in the nursery for further replanting. In addition, a greenhouse, boiler house and planting material storage and irrigation systems have already been built.
Temporary administrative buildings are being constructed in the new city to organize the work of the relevant ministries and agencies. The President familiarized himself with the created conditions in these buildings.
Currently, four buildings and auxiliary facilities have been erected from lightweight structures using only domestically produced building materials. The offices are in open space format and can accommodate up to 250 employees each.
This will contribute to the gradual organization of the work of ministries and departments in New Tashkent, as well as reducing traffic congestion in the capital.
