The extremely intensive program of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev's working visit to Azerbaijan has concluded.
Yesterday, November 12, the Head of our state addressed the plenary session of the World Leaders Summit within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Climate Change (COP29), putting forward important initiatives to jointly overcome the consequences of climate change.
On the margins of the summit, the President of Uzbekistan held meetings with President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, President of EBRD Odile Renaud-Basso, President of IDB Muhammad Al Jasser, Director General of ICESCO Salim Al-Malik, Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund Mafalda Duarte and former British Prime Minister, Executive chairman of the Institute for Global Change Tony Blair.
On the second day of the program, November 13, the President of our country participated in the ceremony of signing a trilateral agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transfer of “green” energy between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
A meeting was held with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, after which the heads of state launched a joint factory.
On the sidelines of the UN climate summit, meetings were held with the Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Director General of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Director General of the Global Environment Facility Carlos Rodríguez.
The President of our country also visited the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan at COP29.
After completing the events of the visit, the Head of our state departed to Tashkent. At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the President of our country and his wife were seen off by the Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Farid Akhmedov and other officials.
