On November 11, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Baku on a working visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the Head of our state was welcomed by Minister of economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and other officials.

The program of the visit envisages participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the events of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

The President of our country will also hold a number of meetings with heads of foreign states and international organizations.

Within the framework of COP29, our delegation will organize a series of high-level events dedicated to combating land degradation and desertification, development of environmental education and the role of youth in promoting the climate agenda.

More than 20 side events are planned to be organized at the specially created National Pavilion of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including those on resolving socio-ecological problems of the Aral Sea region, development of green economy, introduction of renewable energy and water-saving technologies, ensuring food security, preservation of biodiversity and others.
