President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of his working visit to Riyadh.

The sides discussed matters of further expansion of practical interaction, particularly the implementation of priority investment projects in Uzbekistan in the context of fulfillment of agreements at the highest level.

The sides noted with deep satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted cooperation in recent years.

The volumes of mutual trade turnover, the scope of cooperation and the frequency of flights are growing. About $2.5 billion of investments by Saudi companies are expected to be attracted by the end of this year.

The importance of promoting promising projects in such sectors as green energy, healthcare, modernization of transport infrastructure, heat and water supply, agriculture as well as housing and communal services was stressed.

In this context, the need for thorough preparation of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in the city of Tashkent was emphasized.
