During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of the initial stage of construction of the New Navoi town.

Here, the Head of State talked to representatives of the older generation and intellectuals.

- Today we have come here to find an answer to the question of what will be the future of eight districts and three cities of Navoi region. Fortunately, our population is approaching 38 million. We need to create a solid foundation for our people.Why are we building such new towns? Because the young generation is growing up. We will create conditions in every region so that young people can work and live with dignity where they were born, - said the President.

To implement the project, 1,100 hectares of land were transferred from the Karmana district to the city of Navoi. It is planned to develop 450 hectares at the first stage.

The town will have residential buildings from 7 to 22 stories high, general education schools for 4,170 children, kindergartens for 1,620 children and a polyclinic. There will also be a Yangi Uzbekiston park and a new campus of Navoi State Pedagogical Institute.

The President noted that despite the developed industry in Navoi region, the potential in the service sector has not yet been fully utilized. Therefore, the town will have park areas, entertainment centers, stores and catering outlets.

The construction of the town will be coordinated by the project directorate. Land plots will be put up for electronic auction and investment agreements will be concluded with the winning construction organizations.
