On the sidelines of the BRICS summit, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the first day of his visit to Kazan.

The two sides discussed topical issues of further deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing multifaceted cooperation in political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The Presidents spoke in favor of continuing intensive contacts and fruitful exchanges.

Special attention was paid to the promotion of cooperation projects in geology and mineral resources extraction, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, health care, education and other sectors.

The need for regular joint cultural and humanitarian events was emphasized.

The leaders also exchanged views on important aspects of the international and regional agenda.
