On October 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the draft master plan of the city of Tashkent.

Currently, the city's territory is 43,822 hectares, the population is more than 3 million people. These figures will undoubtedly increase in the future. In this regard, a master plan for the city of Tashkent was developed for the period until 2045.

The Head of State got acquainted with the first developments in this area in 2022. The project was improved based on the instructions and recommendations he gave. Thorough work has been carried out at ToshkentboshplanLITI enterprise in collaboration with companies from Singapore, Great Britain, Turkey, Germany, China and the Netherlands.

According to the project, the territory of Tashkent city will be divided into 3 zones. The conservation zone will ensure the preservation of cultural heritage sites, historical sites, buildings and green areas. Additional construction will be possible in the reconstruction zone based on the master plans. In the renovation zone, new construction will be carried out on the site of dilapidated housing and old buildings, as well as their repair.

Today, environmental and transport problems are becoming increasingly relevant. In particular, over the past ten years, the average air temperature in Tashkent has increased by 1 degree. On some days, the levels of pollutants in the atmosphere exceed normal levels. The number of cars is increasing every day, and road traffic is becoming more difficult.

These aspects are considered in the new master plan. In particular, it is planned to increase the area of green zones in the city of Tashkent and its environs threefold and bring them to 25 thousand hectares. Due to this, the area of green spaces per capita will increase from the current 3 to 6 square meters.

According to urban planning requirements, residents should be able to get to the nearest kindergarten, school, hospital, retail and service facilities from their place of residence in no more than 15 minutes. In this regard, the public transport network will be expanded, the number of nodes and stops will be increased. New roads will be built and metrobus routes will be established.

As a result of the city's growth in recent years, Tashkent's electricity, water and sewerage infrastructures are operating under increased load. The draft master plan includes measures to increase their capacity.

After the approval of the master plan, its maps will be posted in the geographic information system of the Urban Development Cadastre and on the website of the Tashkent city khokimiyat in the public domain.

The Head of our State emphasized the need to transform Tashkent into a large metropolis with favorable living and working conditions for at least 7,5 million people. Instructions were given for the development of the Kibray, Zangiata, Yukorichirchik, Urtachirchik and Tashkent districts of the Tashkent region in line with a single agglomeration with the capital.
